Treva Tribit's Facebook profile Hi! I'm Treva, a professional photographer from North Dallas who specializes in capturing weddings. However, if you've followed my blog you know it clearly doesn't end there. As you will quickly learn, my primary passion is my walk with our Savior Jesus Christ and without Him I firmly believe none of this, my talents, my life, or anything around me would be possible. I feel so entirely blessed by the talents and the people that He has put in my life.

As a photographer, I believe a photographer should be able to capture the essence of anything, whether it be landscapes, families, children, details or anything in between. My camera is merely a tool to help me capture what I see, the entire world a canvas, and my clients give me the inspiration to carry out the creative visions they invoke. Whether it be the dreamy eyed gazed between two lovers, or a rambunctious toddler staring down the lens, or the tender moments between parents and their newborn...you bring it, and I will capture it. It's my joy, my passion, and it would be my pleasure to work with you. Join me on this adventure! Thank you for stopping by.

BOOKED: Philadelphia wedding May 09!

Monday, January 5th, 2009 | News

Its really amazing how clients stumble on you, or you on them…word of mouth makes the world a much smaller place, thats for sure!

Remember Cathy & Michael’s GORGEOUS country club wedding (Eldorado Country Club in Mckinney did an amazing job with their wedding)?  Cathy and Michael’s whole family (by coincidence) are all from the Philadelphia/NY/NJ area (I think they googled us and found us that way, so no, we didn’t know them before!!)

So, Cathy’s bridesmaid and very good friend, Tiffany mentioned she was ALSO getting married, in May of ‘09.  Exchanged info., she loved Cathy and Michael’s pictures, next thing you know…they are traveling us up to photograph their wedding this May!  Its going to be at a beautiful church and “The Chateau” for the reception.  They have also requested a “day after” shoot, since they don’t leave for their honeymoon for a week!  SO excited, we may even take them up to NYC for some gorgeous Bride & Groom shots in the Big Apple!!

My maternity shoot last night went beautifully and the pictures (posting soon!) turned out fantastic!  Jennifer and Chris are SO sweet, and their story has so much hope, faith, and a testament to Gods GRACE in our lives! (And answered prayer!)  I will be sharing more of that when I post their pictures!  When we were done, I discovered an email about doing a wedding for Brittany and Jeremy (remember their engagement pictures?) in Destin Florida in April…we’re working on the details, stay tuned!

Tonya’s gorgeous wedding had one very pretty (and pregnant) bridesmaid expecting TWINS!  They contacted us to come out and do their family/newborn shoot, yay, TWINS!

2009 is starting magnificently, love to you all!

Me=busy

Sunday, January 4th, 2009 | News

We were invited to join the oh-so-cool-oh-so-sassy Wedding Chicks (they’re picky about the vendors they allow in), and we jumped on the opportunity!  Brides, its an AWESOME spot to gather info., check them out!  www.weddingchicks.com

We have also done some major blog renovation, with a few tweaks left here or there.  PHOTOGRAPHERS: If you are interested in the custom made blog, our guy does it by request ONLY, and he’s awesome..email me if you are interested!   We had a logo made, with a full branding “plan” in place.  (Which means new, well, everything.) We’re responding to wedding consult requests, renovating the website(s), and getting ready for tomorrow’s Maternity shoot!  In addition, we are officially Twitter addicts, I really am not so egotistical I think people care what I’m doing at every moment, but geez I can’t seem to stop tweeting!

We’ve also had a house full of little sicklies, finally all on the mend.  There are some MAJOR things on the horizon for Treva Tribit Photography (aka Treva’s Studio), several senior shoots, engagement and bridal shoots, two different preschool events, wedding here there and everywhere,(even possibly Jamaica!), Association events, teaching classes and workshops (we’ve been invited to teach both), and more than I think I want to list!  2008 was amazing, 2009 is looking ever more amazing!

Happy New Year, many many many blessings for 2009!

John and Heather commisioned us late last year to give the photos from their session as gifts to their extend family. We had a blast and while they have long received their photos, we are just now getting around to posting some of them for our readers to read. There are going to be a lot of changes coming to the blog and to the website, so stay tuned!

Word of THANKS!

Saturday, December 27th, 2008 | News

It seems appropriate, after such a blessed, wonderful, relaxing Christmas, to sit down and thank my amazing clients and vendors for the most spectacular year…2008 has been more than I could have ever imagined, and only as we prayed over this business daily, did I ever fathom the growth that each of you had a special, cherished part in.

There are not often times we can be absolutely certain of Gods leading, sometimes going down the path we think He’s leading us can mean distractions, road blocks, and sometimes I know I look around and think “am I even on the right path?”

But, throughout the year as we prayed, God kept pushing, prodding, leading…bringing each of you at certain times, in certain ways into our lives.  I know that many of you have written how much the pictures meant to you..whether family, or baby, or wedding, or engagement…but you all have meant so much to us.  You signified that we were indeed doing not only what we have had a passion for, but doing what God would have us do.  You became friends, almost family at times, you’ve spoken to our hearts in a myriad of ways, moments that brought tears to my eyes, relationships we will forever treasure.  Thank you for sharing your lives, your very special moments and days with us, for choosing and entrusting us with what we know, is time you cherish..time you will never get back.  And neither will we.  And neither would we choose to spend it any differently, thank you for being so much more than just clients and vendors.

As this New Year approaches, and we look around at the paths we are all on, we pray that the direction will be clear, that your life will be filled with hope, and promise, and that obstacles and roadblocks turn out to be blessings in disguise…and that you will include us again in your future cherished moments.

Love to you all,

Bob & Treva

Ramblings…

Thursday, December 18th, 2008 | News

I want to introduce you to the insanity of a photographer…maybe it is the hours of mind-numbing time spent editing thousands of pictures, (I’m going cross-eyed, I swear!) but there is a burden that every professional photographer bears when they choose this as a career…

No longer can I casually walk into an establishment, or drive through town, or even glance over at the bowl sitting on the kitchen counter without noticing lighting, angles, reflections, colors, bokeh maybe? Shadows or OMG that is the perfect aperture opportunity!  It haunts me!!  When my family, or kids, even my husband (who has dreamy blue eyes to get lost in) talks to me, I cannot help but think “this shot would be perfect with the sun shining back behind him…oh wait, what did he say?”  It is truly photography insanity, and I do not think there is a cure!  If I thought it would earn me a day in bed with the covers over my head, sleeping indulgently, I would use it..heh.

On a more personal note, a love affair has ended.  For almost sixteen months, she cherished the friendship, holding tightly, never has she smiled so much.  They did everything together, her dearest companion, second only to the other love of her life, daddy…Madeleine has said a mournful goodbye to her precious bottle.  Trading it in for a sippy cup (much to my JOY!), but fond are the memories…and every so often she will glance longingly at Elly’s bottle, remembering…my baby is growing up!  Walking, talking, sippy-cup-drinking…it won’t be long and she’ll be driving (oh wait, they moved the age to 18 years, we’re good.)

Enough Rambling…back to editing..just booked another shoot for 2009…happy Thursday!

Yes, they are all ours!

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008 | News

Well, sort of.  In all the ways that matter!  As most of you already know, we have a large group of lovely little angels…his+hers+ours!  And, commonly asked:  “Are they all yours?”  “You know how that happens, don’t you?”  “You have your hands full, don’t you?”  Literally, people.  More kids than arms=outnumbered parents!

So, for all of you wonderful friends (aka: clients), who have asked (many, many, many) many times for “pictures, Please!” Here is the album we have created for Bob’s grandfather for Christmas!  Gawk, admire, gasp, we’re well aware of our, um, unique status as a large blended family, but there is more love to go around than any one set of parents deserves!  We are blessed, (and our hands are full!)

This one got me!

Monday, December 15th, 2008 | News

So, nothing gets us into the Christmas mood more than music that ONLY gets played this time of year! Yay!  I’m always filling up my Rhapsody to listen to while I’m editing up pictures, and before I post the family shoot I did last week (and just booked another for after Christmas-whoohoo!) I wanted to share a song that I know will mean something to all of you!

Last year, this song came out at Christmastime, and I could be seen driving down the road, blubbering with tears dripping off my face, and a OH so unattractive way…!  I mean, how can you listen to this and not hold your baby (and if you are a mom, you know they are ALWAYS your baby, even if their sassy little self is taller than you…!

Its called Joseph’s Lullaby by MercyMe.  The song is gorgeous but the words are just precious!

Go to sleep my Son
This manger for your bed
You have a long road before You
Rest Your little head

Can You feel the weight of Your glory?
Do You understand the price?
Or does the Father guard Your heart for now
So You can sleep tonight?

Go to sleep my Son
Go and chase Your dreams
This world can wait for one more moment
Go and sleep in peace

I believe the glory of Heaven
Is lying in my arms tonight
But Lord, I ask that He for just this moment
Simply be my child

Go to sleep my Son
Baby, close Your eyes
Soon enough You’ll save the day
But for now, dear Child of mine
Oh my Jesus, Sleep tight

Enjoy, my friends!

Casie & Travis - sneak peek!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008 | Bridal, Wedding

Three words:  Married.in.Vegas.   ha!  Casie & Travis called me about photographing their reception the day after Thanksgiving, the early part of this year…and boy am I glad we did!  Between the hunting photos, the mixture between country and hip-hop, and getting married in Vegas (and the reception on a ranch!), I don’t think I could describe these two and do any justice!  They have family who adore them, friends they have grown up with, and a love for each other that showed itself the entire evening…and when he didn’t think we were looking, Travis snuck in some big smiles for his new bride we happened to catch!

To Casie, Travis, and all of your precious friends and family, thank you for a fun-filled evening, we were so happy to be apart of your celebration!

Tonya & Nathan…sneak peek!

Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 | Wedding

Tonya and her two precious boys didn’t know if God planned for someone to come into their life, but it didn’t matter because ultimately, Tonya was diligently settled on doing whatever it was God intended for their lives.  And then one day, one very special day, Nathan walked in and became a blessing that she and her little guys never imagined God could possibly have planned…and for Nathan, Tonya and those boys became “his” to love and to cherish.  We never know the road that God prepares for us long before we know we should be walking down it, how He moves pieces and sets up situations, and along the way we make wrong turns and stumble on road blocks…and in their case, this precious family found each other at just the right time, in just the right way, and we were honored to witness them finally uniting with their friends and family all in attendance.  As life throws them curve-balls, I have faith they will stand strong and remember what it took to get them here, and how sweet to know there IS a plan for our lives, to give us hope, and a future!  Congratulations Tonya & Nathan, and your two little men!  Enjoy this sneak peek into your special day, and boy, are there more to come!!
